Prolozone® Pain therapy is a homeopathic/oxygen injection technique developed and pioneered by Dr. Shallenberger. It is excellent for all forms of musculoskeletal and joint pain, including chronic neck and back pain, rotator cuff injuries, degenerative and arthritic hips and knees, degenerated discs, and shoulder and elbow pain. Because in many cases, Prolozone actually corrects the pathology of the disorder, there is a 75% chance for the chronic pain sufferer to becoming permanently pain-free.

What Is Prolozone?

Prolozone is derived from the Latin word “proli,” which means regenerating or rebuilding, and the word ozone. Ozone is the most highly active form of oxygen in the universe. Prolozone uses the power of oxygen to cause damaged tissues, joints, ligaments, and tendons to regenerate. This usually causes a complete healing and a permanent end to pain.

How Does Prolozone Work?

The reason that some injuries completely heal and others don’t have to do with circulation. For a damaged area of the body to regenerate and heal, it must have the critical elements that only the blood can provide: vitamins, minerals, and oxygen. Of these, by far the most important is oxygen. Low levels of oxygen can cause an accumulation of lactic acid, which causes pain.

Prolozone works in three ways. First, homeopathic anti-inflammatory medications are injected into the injured area to reduce inflammation and swelling. This leads to increased circulation. Next, the area is treated with vitamins and minerals that are critical to healing. Finally, the area is infiltrated with oxygen in the form of ozone. The result is that the tissues get what they need to heal. As they heal, the circulation to the area is re-established, and the treatment is complete. The response to treatment varies from person to person, but most people only need 3-5 treatments.

Is Prolozone The Same As Prolotherapy?

No. Prolozone uses oxygen to create healing. Prolotherapy uses inflammation to create healing. Dr. Shallenberger used to use prolotherapy. Although he found prolotherapy was effective, here are the comparative drawbacks to benefits for Prolozone Therapy. Prolotherapy is painful with pain that normally persists for days to weeks after the treatment. Patients receiving Prolozone feel immediate improvement with very little to any pain during treatments or after the treatments. Next, Prolotherapy requires many injections, whereas Prolozone only requires a few injections. This means that Prolozone is faster and much less expensive. Finally, Prolozone Therapy is especially effective in regenerating the cartilage in damaged knees and hips. Prolotherapy is typically not able to do this.

Most Common Conditions Treated

  • Back and neck pain – with or without degenerative disc disease.
  • Shoulder pain from rotator cuff injuries
  • Osteoarthritis – hips, knees, and spine
  • Arthritic Joints
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Sports injuries
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sprains and strains

Response To Prolozone Therapy

The response to treatment varies from individual to individual and depends upon one’s healing ability and severity of the condition. The injection process is repeated every 2-4 weeks until maximum improvement is noted. It may take more injections in those that have chronic long-term pain. Each situation requires an individualized protocol.

Prolozone Therapy is a safe, natural, and often permanent treatment. All the research indicates there are no side effects when properly implemented.
